Dr. Vaunrance Benjamin, MD, MPH
Dr. Vaunrance Benjamin is an OB-GYN with over two decades of experience working in public health, family planning, women’s health, holistic care, geriatric care, and home health. He founded The Benjamin Wellness Center in Hollywood, FL in 2011 to provide the community with affordable quality primary care and comprehensive health care services through a holistic approach.

As a young boy growing up in Texas, Dr. Benjamin always knew he wanted to serve the community and help people lead better lives. His passion for helping others led him to pursue his undergrad at Prairie View A&M University, a Masters Degree in public health at the prestigious John Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Medicine, and a Doctorate of Medicine from Wayne State University. After medical school, Dr. Benjamin specialized in obstetrics and completed his residency at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in New York City, where he finished his residency as one of the OB-GYN department’s chief residents.
Dr. Benjamin then branched into primary care and worked as an assistant attending physician at the Brooklyn Hospital Center, where he gained experience as a family physician working with a range of age groups and conditions. Dr. Benjamin made the move to sunny Florida from the East Coast in 2007 after two years at The Charter Oak Health Center in Hartford, Connecticut. There, he continued on his path of helping underserved communities and worked with at-risk young mothers as an OB-GYN and assisting them with family planning, along with performing medical procedures and treating patients for chronic and acute conditions. This path eventually took him to Miami, Florida, where he continued working as attending and senior physician at top medical clinics administering prenatal care for ambulatory patients, educating patients on preventative health care for women, lecturing on maternal care issues for teen mothers, along with managing and treating acute and chronic conditions of patients.
The Benjamin Wellness Center was founded in 2011 with a group of skilled and accredited medical and service staff. As a comprehensive clinic, it became a place where a mother could take her entire family (including any future babies!) for primary care services rather than having to cram many separate providers in her already tight schedule. With his experience in elder care and acute knowledge of the specific medical needs of the older community, Dr. Benjamin also started offering quality care to senior citizens.
